| Biography After a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Fatima knew that she had found greater purpose. She began using music as a healing tool to encourage the mind-body-spirit connection. One such tool is Purge & Re-Member, her inspirational solo CD project, released under her record label Create Path Works. “Purging is about cleansing and renewal. Re-Membering is the process of putting the pieces back together again for the purpose of divine order. This CD is about healing and transformation”, she says. As a former member of urban contemporary gospel group, Spiritual Pieces, she has enjoyed 3 Stellar Award nominations and the LA Music and ASCAP Plus Awards . She has shared the stage with such gospel notables as Kirk Franklin , Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, Vickie Winans, Tonex and Karen Clark-Sheard to name a few. She is also a former backup singer and session vocalist for Mary J. Blige and Grammy Award winning artist Wyclef Jean and Fugees . She can also be heard singing the jingle for the new Nissan Presage commercial. Recently, she became the first African American to ever sing at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russia. As an actress, she has appeared on such TV shows as Beverly Hills, 90210 , Seinfeld , and Divas , which garnered her an NAACP Award nomination for best actress. Currently, she is enjoying the success of “I Choose You” the self produced CD single, commissioned for use in the national new hit stage play STEM in which she co-stars and shares credit as writer. Equally exciting is the Spring 2006 publication of her first book, Losing Religion…Finding God! which will loosely mirror the premise of the CD. An advocate for health & well-being, it is her hope that people will ‘tap into the spiritual power that comes with honoring and nurturing the body temple”. She is founder of The Healing Circle , an L.A. based Fibromyalgia support group that seeks to create awareness about alternative healing modalities, preventive medicine and natural health. With so much going on it's easy to wonder how she is able to pull it all together. However, she gives credit to a much higher power. She believes, “God is my source, my agent, my manager and my opportunity maker. All I have to do is be true to the artist voice within, remember to do my part as co-creator and let the Creator do the rest!”
